What do you do when your daughter falls in love with the new Halloween fabric you've brought home? Design and make her something special, of course! My daughter moved into her first apartment a few months ago so she requested a table runner made from this fun fabric from the Spooky Night line by 3 Wishes Fabric. I accepted her challenge and had fun creating this festive Halloween table runner!
Since my daughter loved the fabric and it was the original inspiration piece, I opted to feature it in 2 large blocks on the runner. For a fun center block, I added a jack-o'-lantern with his spooky smile. Next I added the borders and then quilted it with a favorite Halloween cobweb stitch pattern called "Spindle," from Urban Elementz. I did a little custom quilting on the center block, masking out the E2E design and then adding 4 single cobwebs I created from the E2E design in my Innova's Autopilot Software.
I'm super excited to share this fun runner with my daughter. I'm creating a Boo Bag with the runner and a few other seasonal gifts to celebrate her first Halloween in her own home.
I decided to create a pattern of the runner to share with you all. It was an easy and fun project!
Here's some features of the pattern:
• The pattern includes instructions on how to cut the pumpkin and jack-o'-lantern face on a die cutting machine like a Cricut Maker, Silhouette Cameo 4 or 5, or any other computerized die cutting machine that will cut fabric.
• PNG files for the pumpkin and jack-o'-lantern face are included so you can upload those into your die cutting machine's software.
• The runner doesn't take a lot of fabric an can be made from fabrics in your stash or scrap bin.
• You can skip the jack-o'-lantern face if you just want a pumpkin. Use more Fall themed fabrics and you have a runner you can enjoy all Fall.
• This is a great project to quilt on your own sewing machine!
The Pumpkin Lane Runner pattern will be on sale for $5 through October 31, 2025 in my shop here. No code is needed. You'll see the sale price in your cart. I hope you enjoy this fun Halloween project!
